Stoke City could try to re-sign the Tottenham Hotspur man next season
Stoke City could try to loan Jack Clarke again for next season to Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report by Stoke On Trent Live.
Potters boss Michael O’Neill has hinted they may try to lure him in for another stint at Bet365 stadium.
Clarke, who is 20, was given the nod to leave Spurs in the January transfer window and it was Stoke who won the race for his signing.
He has since made 10 appearances for the Championship and gives them more options and depth.
O’Neill said, “We are happy with Jack’s contribution. There are areas where he still needs to improve, but he is a very talented young player.
“In terms of loan, he played more minutes than in previous loans, so he’s still adjusting a bit. But he’s a young player that we’re looking at by the end of the season to have an impact because you’d like to think that was a situation we could revisit next year in the longer term.
Clarke rose through the youth ranks at Leeds United and played 25 times for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, scoring two goals.
Spurs signed him from the Whites in the summer of 2019 and immediately loaned him to Elland Road before recalling him in January of last year. However, he was frozen by Bielsa and spent the second half of last season on league loan at QPR and played seven times for the Hoops.
Clarke is now back in the second level at Stoke and they could try to sign him again this summer.
